About Memorial Day Memorial Day is the day we remember those who have died in military service. We often hear about their heroic actions in combat just before their ultimate sacrifice. Or, we hear about the sudden interruption of their young lives by a "road bomb" or "insurgent's" attacks. And, we hear of their death as a result of the crash of their aircrafts. But, perhaps, the most significant detail we may never know is that there are widows, widowers, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, friends and most importantly orphan children attached to these "fallen" men and women. These men and women are survived by many whose lives are shattered forever.
