What color rainbow would you be if you were a rainbow?

The Many Colors of Rainbow
The Many Colors of Rainbow
May 2007, walking around the neighborhood
 T:
Dad, what kind of sign would you be if you were a traffic sign?
Dad:
A red light.
T:
  Me too, dad.
Dad:
What is your reason?
T:
  First you.
Dad:
I asked you first.
T:
Because you said red lights are better than stop signs.
Dad:
Did I?
T:
Yes. You said people get confused with stop signs. But, with a red light they know what to do.
Dad:
That’s right. I did.
T:
Why they don’t change all stop signs to red lights?
Dad:
Red lights are more expensive?
T:
Oh!  What color would you want to be if you were a rose dad?
Dad:
Red.
T:
  Me, Pink.
Dad:
Sure! that is your favorite color.
T:
  Lavender is my favorite too.
Dad:
That’s a fancy way of saying purple, isn’t it?
T:
No dad! It’s not purple. It’s pinkish purple.
Dad:
Where did you hear that?
T:
I don’t remember. What would you be if your were an animal?
Dad:
I am an animal.
T:
Seriously, dad! Be serious.
Dad:
I am. Man is an animal.
T:
What is wrong with this guy? I mean an animal like a dog or a falcon, or a squirrel; that kind of animal.
Dad:
A circus animal.
T:
What kind dad? What kind of an animal?
Dad:
A horse, an elephant, I’m not sure. An elephant, I suppose.
T:
I would be a falcon.
Dad:
A falcon.
T:
Did you know falcons can fly without flapping their wings? Eagles too!
Dad:
Most birds do. Most birds dive.
T:
But falcons have long wings and they can glide longer.
Dad:
Do you like to fly?
T:
I’d love to fly. Dad, what color rainbow would you be if you were a rainbow?
Dad
: A rainbow? A rainbow has all sorts of colors; every color that ever existed.
T:
How do they make rainbows?
Dad: Rainbows are made by nature. Usually, immediately after rain - when rain stops – and sun comes out, sun rays that shine  through water particles and droplets create colorful beams. You only see them if the sun is behind you. I can make a rainbow you know?
T:
  They are made by nature.
Dad
: I mean I can show and demonstrate the process in which a rainbow is made.
T:
I can draw a rainbow.
Dad
: I can too.
T:
Can a rainbow have black color?
Dad
: Black is not a color. You will not see black in a rainbow.
T:
What is wrong with this guy? I have many black pencils, and black markers and black paper. What is wrong with this guy?
Dad
: I love you. You’re the funniest and the sweetest artist I’ve ever known. We’re home. Let’s go wash up and you draw me a rainbow.
T:
Let’s go.

Minutes later

T:
Here dad; For you.
Dad
: Love it! Can this monkey see the rainbow, though?
T:
No!
Dad
: Do you know why? I tell you why. For the monkey to be able to see the rainbow, he has to stand with his back to the sun.
T:
He does not want to see the rainbow. He just wants to be part of my project.
